Now is the time to support and scale what works and ensure finance flows to where it can drive real, lasting impact.

EnviroStrat has been at the forefront of designing and structuring investable solutions across Aotearoa NZ and the Pacific, that align financial returns with environmental outcomes.
Here are my key takeaways from one of the world’s largest and most influential climate action events – London Climate Action Week:
Overwhelmingly, LCAW reminded me that solutions do exist that work for people, the planet, and the economy. We have an exciting opportunity to bring innovation to the forefront of climate work; now is the time to support and scale what works and ensure finance flows to where it can drive real, lasting impact.
Storytelling builds connection: sharing experiences, is how we innately connect with others around us, and in many ways, how we connect with the earth and the ocean. We heard from fishers and coastal community groups in @NatureMetrics’ SeaChanges, regenerative farmers, and policy makers in @RegenHouse’s ‘Regenerative Food Systems: Scaling Impact from Soil to Shelf’. Hearing the perspectives and experiences of people on the ground (and on the ocean) brought ideas to life and made them tangible.
Finance for nature at a turning point; the @SustainableOceanAlliance brought together experts in sustainable finance, ocean policy, insurance, and activism to prompt a much-needed dialogue around how effective finance can accelerate climate action, particularly in the context of the $8.4T in risk that business could face over the next 15 years. In Aotearoa New Zealand, where climate-related physical risks such as sea level rise, flooding, and biodiversity loss are already materialising, there is growing recognition that private and public capital must be mobilised in new ways.
In conclusion, admittedly I went into the week anxious that the scale of the climate and biodiversity crises we are facing would leave me feeling overwhelmed, but our work at EnviroStrat, and a week of discovering and reconnecting with those of us working at the forefront of climate action, left me feeling motivated and inspired. I’d like to thank those organising events at London Climate Action Week, for showcasing the incredible work being done across the UK and the world.
